Past Perfect Tense (فعل ماضی مکمل)

Introduction(تعارف):

Ye Past Tense ke lie use hota hai Aor aisey kam ke lie use hota hai jo Past mein kisi dosrey kam ke start honey sey pehley hy complete hochuka ho.

Examples:  Doctor ke Aaney sey pehley Mariz mar chuka tha. Jab Tum ney ghanti bajayi tu mein ney apna kam khatam kar lia tha. etc.

Identification(پہچان):

Past Perfect Tense ki Urdu sentences  mein  pehchan ye he keh sentence key last mein “چکا تھا” , “چکي  تھي” , “چکي  تھيں”, etc Aatey hein. Aor in mein kam az kam ek kam mukammal hogya ho. Eske Elawa Aisey sentences bhi iss Tense ki pehchan hein jin mein 2 aisey waqiyat ka zikar ho jo Past Tense mein zahoor pazeer hwey ho.

Examples: Mein school jachuka tha, Aslam apna kam khatam karchuka tha, Jab Hum station pohnchey tu gari jachuki thi, Soraj niklaney sey pehley tum jag chukey they etc.

Structure (بناوٹ):

Past Perfect Tense (فعل ماضی مکمل) key sentences mein “Verb” ki tesri halat (3rd form) use ki jati hai. Verb ki 3rd form sey pehle “Had” lagaya jata hai. Yaad rakhey jab iss Tense mein 2 kaam honey ka zkar ho tu pehley mukammal honey waley kaam ke lie “Past Perfect Tense” Aor bad mein aney waley kaam ke lie humesha “Past Indefinite Tense” use hoga.

Examples:

Mein college jaa chuka tha. I had gone to college.
Wo apna kaam khatam karchuka tha. He had finished his work.

 

Doctor ke aaney sey pehle mariz marchuka tha. The patient had died before the doctor came.
Jab hum station pohnchey tu gari jachuki thi. The train had left when we reached the station.

 

Negative Sentences:

Past Perfect Tense key sentences ko Negative bananey k lie helping Verb “HAD” aor Main Verb (3rd form) key Darmyan mein “not” lagaya jata hai.

Examples:

Mein college nahi jachuka tha. I had not gone to college.
Wo apna kaam nahi khatam karchuka tha. He had not finished his work.
Doctor ke aaney sey pehle mariz nahi marchuka tha. The patient had not died before the doctor came.
Jab hum station pohnchey tu gari nahi jachuki thi. The train had not left when we reached the station.

 

Interrogative Sentences:

Present perfect Tense key sentences ko interrogative bananey k lie “Subject” sey pehle “HAD” Laga diya jata hai. Aor Subject key bad Verb (3rd form) Essy tarah use kia jata hai. Aor tamam interrogative sentences key last mein ye nishan (?) lagaya jata hai.

Examples:

Kia mein college ja chuka tha? Had I gone to college?
Kia wo apna kaam khatam kar chuka tha? Had he finished his work?
Kia Doctor ke aaney sey pehle mariz marchuka tha? Had The patient died before the doctor came?
Kia jab hum station pohnchey tu gari  jachuki thi? Had The train left when we reached the station?

Jab Nasir aya tu mein nahi ja chuka tha. I had not gone when Nasir came. Jab Saeed aya tu tum nahi  ja chuke they. You had not gone when Saeed came.
Kia Jab Nasir aya tu mein  ja chuka tha? Had I gone when Nasir came? Kia Jab Saeed aya tu tum ja chuke they? Had you gone when Saeed came?
Jab Waqar aya tu hum nahi ja chukey thein. We had not gone when Waqar came. Kia Jab Saeed aya tu tum nahi ja chuke they? Had you not gone when Saeed came?
Jab Waqar aya tu hum ja chukey thein. We had gone when Waqar came. Jab Arshad Ali aya tu wo ja chuka tha. He had gone when Arshad Ali came.
Kia Jab Waqar aya tu hum ja chukey thein? Had we gone when Waqar came? Kia Jab Arshad Ali aya tu wo ja chuka tha? Had he gone when Arshad Ali came?
Kia Jab Waqar aya tu hum nahi ja chukey thein? Had we not gone when Waqar came? Kia Jab Arshad Ali aya tu wo nhi ja chuka tha? He had not gone when Arshad Ali came?
