Protists in the Five Kingdom System.

The five-kingdom system was introduced by Robert Whittaker in which he differentiates between animals and plants as well as fungi monerans and protists. They first considered as trash can kingdom which later on distributed in separate kingdom because they have similarities to both animals & plants. Due to this character, they are considered as the ancestor of modern-day animals and plants. Protists are the organisms that are very much important for the human being for their survival food as well as their economical value they are considered as the most expensive organisms because they are used and different types of medical purposes as well as is in business purposes.

Protists include two types of mainly the plant-like and animal-like, amoeba is a famous protest which mainly live in the freshwater and considered as animal-like protist. It is also some times acts as a parasite & produce different types of diseases such as amoebic dysentery, in which inflammation of large intestine takes place. There are also plant-like protists that contain chlorophyll & they make their own food by the process of photosynthesis. They are locomotive & can go from one place to another.

Animal-like protests include mainly Chlorophyta which has the most similarities to land plant because it contains chlorophyll for the process of photosynthesis and it also contain chlorophyll a and be in addition to carotenoids. The most huge similarity tool and the plant are that of its store their food as glycogen this is the main and most hit similarities with the land plant so that’s why it is considered as Chlorophyta is the ancestors of modern-day land plants. Other plant-like protists include dinoflagellates as well as Rhodophyta Phaeophyta diatoms etc. These plant-like protists are important in producing different types of edible and economical things such as broth and agar as well as carrageenan are mostly produced by plant-like protists which help in our economy as well as in health.

Another animal-like protists include kinetoplastids or flagellates this protist also causes diseases of human nature which mainly include African sleeping diseases in which a person sleeps for 18 hours a day a and a person also feels unconsciousness as well as lethargy e and sluggishness this is known as scientifically trypanosomiasis. Trachonymph is also animal-like protists, it lies in the stomach of termites and help them digest the food which they eat.

In conclusion, I would like to say that Robert Whittaker has done a tremendous job by classifying the organisms into a five-kingdom system namely kingdom Animalia kingdom Plantae kingdom fungi kingdom Protista kingdom Monera. As it has contributed a lot and studying for the paleontologist because when we divide the things it is easy to be studied and when it is easy to be studies studied it is easy to discover more and more information about them so in this way Robert Whittaker has contributed a lot to the science because due to his classification science is able to discover more and more about these organisms.
